Commissions
You may see images in my galleries that you like, but you might also have an idea about something you want that's more personal to you or your business. I can help you with that! I can produce a commissioned piece or series of photographic images that incorporate your ideas, and you will be the sole owner of the final piece.
This is how it works.
- You give me an idea of what you're looking for (click on button below)
- We have a conversation about it
- You purchase a commissioned work
- I send you an initial description so that you can approve the general composition
- I get to work on the piece. I'll also show you it as a work in progress
- Final image is printed, framed and shipped to your home or workplace!
Realizing an Industrial Vision
I'm happy working on any kind of landscape images but I love the extra challenges presented by abstract and composite work. The composites especially give an opportunity to tell a different, or more detailed story.
This image was created incorporating the owner's recollection of seeing the sunset over Hamilton's industrial waterfront, and he selected the colour scheme based on that recollection.
Luckily, I'm quite familiar with the area and it took just a couple of trips to scout out the best location and gather a good collection of photos. After that, I spent time working on the composite. I stitched together a number of images to get a good panoramic view of the Dofasaco/Arcelor Mittal site, then added some layering and lots of digital painting. particularly around the sky. I was also careful to make sure the orange flames from the stacks were still visible. If you look closely, you'll see there are two of these flames!
The final printed image was 36" wide by 12" high, and it could have been much bigger. It was printed on matte metal, which works really well for this type of image, highlighting the colours and details without the glare and reflections that often come with gloss metal prints.
