Maybe Not Bigger Or Bolder But More Regular....

Memories of Mists and Colours

Happy New Year!

I won't even apologize for the disappearance of my blog posts in the last few months but I'm aiming, once again, to get back to posting more regularly!

I’m not a big believer in radical new year resolutions but I do think it’s a good time to review, reset and plan the general direction for the next year.  So that’s what I’m concentrating on right now. I’m mapping out the main priorities for different points in the year – like show dates, seasonal photo locations etc – along with newsletters, website updates and so on. After that, I’ll factor in some of the details as the year progresses.

One thing I always fail to take into account, and you might understand this or be a bit bemused by it, is time to actually sit and edit images! That might sound odd but it often feels like I have to rush and fit it in around everything else. I’ve yearned for more time to actually sit and explore the original images I make, to use more of them and in a better way. So, I’m going to make sure I now allocate time specifically for editing and creating.

To get myself off to a good start with this, I’ve managed to work on a few new composites over recent weeks, including the one above. I’m sure the title gives you an idea of where my mind was with this one - Memories of Mists and Colours.  If you click on the title or the image, you can take a closer look.

So, I hope you're doing, planning or thinking about all the good things you'd like to experience in the coming year and easing into it all with good cheer and a smile on your face. If not, I'm sure it'll come soon enough!
